I would pick Adrian Paul for Ramirez. 1: He looks like Sean Connery (not a twin, but I’ve seen pics of young Sean and Adrian side by side, and they could be brothers) 2: There is no questioning the man’s ability with a sword. 3: He can act. 4: The Highlander Series had some very good episodes, and I just want to see Adrian play Ramirez.

It definitely isn’t easy too, and mine isn’t the only fair interpretation of these even’ts. But I do think it’s the only one that doesn’t require a faith based explanation. I mean, Serwer’s argument that the term could never apply to someone who ultimately has “the best interests of the community in mind” relies more on giving West the benefit of every doubt than on any fact in evidence.

I find it strange how they can talk about Obama being comfortable around white people, yet they seem to be comfortable complaining about Obama…to white people. I’ve noticed that many prominent liberals who are defending them are white. Whenever Obama is criticized by the Professional Left, they use West or Smiley as if they alone represent Black America’s feelings towards Obama. It’s like, “See even black people think Obama’s a failure.”

Thank you for saying it. I really wish I would have read this earlier.

Although, I would like to try, if I may, to redeem Constantine. I thought that movie was awesome. Not in a Dark Knight way, but at least a Blade. Shia Lebouf was legitimately funny (and dies), the effects were great, the concept of a religious warrior is cool, Keanu was… well Keanu, and there’s a weak wet t-shirt scene at the end. Oh yeah, and it’s a redemption tale. Who doesn’t like that? Keep in mind, all I’m trying to do is drag it up from ‘a bloody mess’ to ‘it has some problems.’

Have to say my definition of “talented” is has “x” ever been good in anything. And there’s little evidence that O’Loughlin is. But my point wasn’t really so much about him or his “true” level of talent but rather the number of chances he’s had to find that project that sticks as compared to actresses and non-white actors with comparable career starts.

That he has been given more – many more – isn’t really up for debate.
